There's six days to go before school begins again. Right now the weather is bad! But you have loads of things you could do. Here's some fun learning websites for you to choose from. Last year's 3rd class loved them, you will too.
Almost Every Subject!
Scoilnet (you will LOVE this! Just click on any of the subjects on the right hand side and off you go... hours of fun, any time you want)
Art
- How to Draw Lots of Things (this is from a newspaper website: it might not be up for ever, so enjoy it now!! Lots of top artists created this--for you!)
- And don't forget the fun website UncleFred!
Hundreds (Maybe Thousands!!) of Fun Online Books
Free! On your computer. Right now! From the Library. Click on 'Tumblebooks' and read books OR click on 'Download Zone' and listen to books... free, right now!
Know Your Spellings?
Here's the lists we are using in class. Check if you know them all yet (remember to 'Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check'). By the end of third class, it'd be great if you would know nearly all them. It'll help your reading and writing--a lot!
You Choose: English/Maths/Science
WOW--Cool Stuff from the BBC Again, it's amazing that it's free! While it's still free, make use of it!
And Of Course: Mathletics and TypingWeb
You can 'fight' against children all round the world on Mathletics and you can become one of the fastest typists in the school, even in Ireland, through a few minutes each day on TypingWeb.
By The Way, Here's Some of the Best School Websites
Do you recognise any school you know?!! (At the moment, it's the second one down!!) Are there any good ideas on other school sites that you think Ms Byrne could add to our school website?
Let me know which is your favourite site of all. And let me know if there's other subjects you'd like me to give you websites for. Remember how you learned how to learn!
Looking forward to seeing you on Monday. It'll be a new start for us all. Meanwhile, enjoy your week off. Take it easy,
Mr Stuart
(By the way, ask your parents if they'd like me to use this website to give them ideas and/or class news. If enough parents do want me to do that--and if they promise you they will read it(!)--I will!)
